One Groovy Track

The guys at Ultra Music are known for producing some really upbeat dance tracks; they surely contributed well in the area of Electronic Dance Music.

One of my favourite songs happens to be, "Time Eraser" by Midnight Conspiracy featuring Brandon Smith; this is a must have track for any DJ who is into the EDM genre.

Hmmm. I wonder: does my DJ, Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale have this wicked-sounding track in his musical collection? I will have to drop by his place and find out!

Will The Insanity End In 2014?

For years manufacturers were making poisonous products and selling it to the masses (Now, come on. That sort of insanity needs to end).

Will people continue to purchase items that contain fluoride? Well, not if they make the conscientious effort to do away with products that contain fluoride.

And, what is even sadder, Americans do not have to go out of their way to get fluoride in their system since the relevant authorities have laced their water supply with fluoride.

Fluoride is just one of the many poisonous chemicals that people consume on a daily basis (I could write an entire book about all those deadly contaminants).

As I have said, the insanity needs to end. We need to pave the way for a healthier future and what better way to do that than to make sure that all poisonous substances do not end up in our food and drinking water.

No Plans For New Year's Eve

Photo credit: Stéfan via photopin cc
Today, I am going with the flow; it's a great idea, because I have nothing planned.

In the past, I had planned itineraries for New Year's Eve; I knew exactly where I was going and what I was going to do when I got there.

As I grew older, things changed. I no longer had an interest to do anything special on New Year's Eve.

Honesty, I would prefer to spend it quietly at home.

Now, if I acquired the urge to accept someone's party invitation, I would attend.

I am sure that I am not the only one who doesn't have anything planned for New Year's Eve (I can bet that there are a lot of people who couldn't care less about New Year's Eve celebrations).

And, to those of you who have special plans for this day, may you be safe and may you also personally see to it that you have yourself some fun.

Carly Rae Jepsen To Star As Broadway's New Cinderella

Photo credit: Joe Bielawa via photopin cc
The 28-year-old Canadian singer who gave us the smash hit, "Call Me Maybe," will make her Broadway debut in Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella; which is said to begin on the fourth of February of next year; the Broadway performance will run for twelve weeks at a theatre in New York.

I believe that Carly Rae Jepsen is tremendously talented and that she can pull it off without a hitch.

I hereby wish Carly the best of luck and I have a feeling that her appearance on Broadway is another step for her to grow as an accomplished and well-respected entertainer.

Do You Still Drink Artificially Favoured Beverages?

I genuinely believe that those people who purchase those types of beverages are wasting their money and they are jeopardizing their health.

There is nothing like the real thing (and the real thing is way better than those artificially flavoured sodas). So, why have people trapped themselves into the consumption of these artificially flavoured beverages? Well, I would say that it is a habit of theirs  a habit that they adopted during their childhood.

Those who drink that sort of poison, need to know that artificially flavoured beverages have no nutritional value and they contain lots of sugar.

Also, the chemical composition of the artificial flavouring, the artificial colouring and the preservatives are carcinogenic to the human body.

Although artificially flavoured beverages are cheap and are available almost everywhere, people should stay away from them, because they are not worthy of consumption.

Dogs Are Not Fond Of Fireworks

On special occasions people LOVE to set off their fireworks; especially to usher in a brand new year.

Unfortunately, many dogs do not look upon fireworks with the same type of enjoyment as human beings do; they become terrified by all the loud explosive sounds that fireworks make.

A few years ago, I was at Uncle Richard's home; my family was invited to his New Year's Eve get together.

During the period in which the fireworks went off, a scared German Shepard ran pass us; he went into my uncle's living room to hide; the dog was bleeding from one of his paws (Apparently, the dog damaged himself while trying to escape from all of the noise).

Recently, my neighbour's dog found a way to escape from his doghouse when someone lit a firecracker; I returned him safely back to his own yard; my neighbour was not at home at the time when the incident took place.

And, someone once told me that their dog ran away during the time when fireworks were going off on New Year's Day; the dog was never found or seen again.

I would like people to develop an awareness that most dogs go somewhat insane when fireworks make that loud explosive sound and hopefully they can secure their dog or dogs in an effective manner, or better yet, be around to calm them down.

A Creative Mindset Is A Blogger's Best Friend

photo credit: pchow98 via photopin cc
Some bloggers are known to scratch their heads and force themselves to come up with ideas for their blog; fortunately, I do not have that problem.

From day one, I always knew the type of material that I wanted to post; the type that will keep people coming back for more.

Gone are the days when writer's block threatened to shut me down, but I ignored its threat and it decided to move on and find other bloggers to scare with its threat.

Also, if I want to be creatively playful, I could write a few topics down on paper and place them in my baseball cap and choose one at random.

A nice way to get your creative juices flowing is to write about how you feel; for example: you did some exercise the night before and now your muscles are sore to the touch. You could write an article explaining your reason for being in excruciating pain (Hey, that is merely an example and if you don't want to share that sort of thing with your readers, you are not obligated to).

And, the most important factor in blogging is: to always be yourself; since there is no other person on the planet like you; it puts you at an advantage of posting something rather unique.

Also, the more creative you are the better it is for you and your blog.

Now, I don't think that blogging was meant to be hard; it's just that due to the lack of vision and the lack of creativity of some people, they brought their troublesome blogging issues into fruition.

I genuinely believe that any blogger can do great if they learned to unleash their creative mindset.

The Problem Of Overeating For The Festive Season

Photo credit: Jeffrey Coolwater via photopin cc
It is no big secret that we eat more than average amounts of food for the Christmas Season and for New Year's Eve.

In Trinidad and Tobago, it is the custom to feed your guests during the Christmas Season and your host or hostess personally sees to it that you are well-fed; the bad part in all of this is: we do not visit one household for the Christmas Season; we visit all of our friends, family and relatives; which in the end, results in the accumulation of unwanted pounds.

It really takes a disciplined mind to avoid cases of overeating. So, I hereby recommend that if you are visiting more than one household per day, use portion control; eat a quarter of the amount (or less) than you would usually eat at a sitting; that should help to keep your calorie intake in check. Or, you could go to the extreme by visiting no one; which will prevent you from being tempted to overeat.

I have a strong feeling that a lot of people are going to join a gym in January of next year, so they could work on shedding those pounds.

Inadvertently Stepping On Someone's Toes

Toes on a right foot
Toes on a right foot (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
It is without a doubt that some of the things we post has the potential to infuriate others (Even though we have been extremely polite and that our article was well-written, it gets some people hot under their proverbial collar).

As I have said in the past, "It is impossible to please everyone," and you are asking for the impossible by thinking that everyone would like your blog. People's taste differ and I want you to remember that.

A person may write a post about Google being the number one search engine and that could trigger a whole new argument; someone may leave a comment stating that Bing is now number one, because people lost their faith in Google because of alleged  privacy violations.

Or, you post one of Mother Teresa's quotes and someone who hates her, verbally abuses you.

Many of the things we posted were well-meaning; there was no malice intended. But, someone took offense.

On our blogging journey, many of us (if not all) will figuratively step on the toes of those who disagree with what we posted.

What Would Happen If They Dissolved All Religions?

A different type of map which views only the religion as a whole excluding denominations or sects of the religions, and is colored by how the religions are distributed not by main religion of country etc. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
For the record, I would like to make it known that I have nothing against any religious institution. This article is merely a depiction of what might transpire if all religions were brought to a complete end.

In the past, I wrote about the fact that there is a big difference between being spiritual and religious and that a person doesn't necessarily need to be part of any religious organization to be spiritual.

I have grown tired of hearing about Muslims prosecuting Christians and vice versa.

I am also tired of hearing religious scholars argue about which religion is the true religion (Those who are members of a particular religion tend to think that their own is).

We are all one in the eyes of God/Goddess. So, why is there segregation via religion?

Maybe, in the near future (or a distant one) large masses of people may decide to give up their religious identity for being spiritual; which can eventually lead to true harmonious relations with their fellow men.

Privacy Concerns Pertaining To Smartphones

Someone once said, "If you are concerned about privacy, don't get a smartphone."

Under closer examination, you would realize that smartphones broadcast the GPS coordinates of those who carry them around; they are electronic tracking devices (Although this is true. Few people remember to turn off the location feature).

Also, certain apps are a violation of one's privacy. I found out that when I was about to download a popular browser on my Android smartphone, part of the terms and conditions were to give it permission to take photographs, videos and sound recordings without the user's knowledge (I would speculate that it has something to do with the law enforcement agencies and it is an easy way for them to carry out surveillance).

Everything about smartphones has Big Brother written all over it. Could that have been their plan all along? I would say, "Yes," because it is one of the best ways to keep tabs on people and monitor them around the clock.

In reality we could live without those devices. But, many of us are hooked on the internet. We use them to participate in the daily affairs of the social media and that is only a small part of it.

Let us not forget that our phone calls are also being monitored.

So, do you still want a smartphone? And, for those of us who do own one, are we willing to leave them at home or not  carry them everywhere we go?

People Are Talking About Edward Snowden's Alternative Christmas Message

On Christmas Day, Edward Snowden's Alternative Christmas Message was viewed by countless people around the world; it was aired on Channel 4.

He spoke about worldwide mass surveillance and he also talked about the importance of privacy and that the child being born today will grow up with no conception of privacy (Now, that is a scary thought).

Mr. Snowden also asked for the end to the mass worldwide surveillance.

Even though Edward Snowden's message is a great one, I don't think that the intelligence agencies around the world are going to comply (However, it would be nice if they did).

There Are So Many Computer Programs That Claim To Increase The Speed Of Your Computer

If you are not all that tech-savvy, you are going to be confused by all those computer programs that claim to make your computer work faster and better; should we believe a word that they say? Well, that is a tough one, since there are a lot of charlatans out there.

In the past, I remembered having my computer scanned online for issues; their advertisement claimed that they could repair broken registry, etcetera and that they could make my computer run faster. After the scan, it identified issues, but the trick in all of it was: I had to insert my credit card number to have those so-called issues fixed; I ignored it; it could have been a legitimate transaction, but I wasn't taking any chances.

If I have any sort of computer issues, I rather carry my computer to a well-trained computer technician or a well-trusted friend. Unfortunately, there is too much online fraud taking place at the moment and I am sure that there were a lot of people who were tricked into handing over their hard-earned cash to an online trickster.

Miscommunication Causes Trouble

Photo credit: h.koppdelaney via photopin cc
Many of the problems in the world today stem from people not understanding each other. We all have different mindsets, therefore, we see the world differently than other people do (Remember, other people's viewpoints are not exactly 100% as ours; what is perceived as logical by one may be viewed as being illogical by the other person, or they may understand the message that we are attempting to put across to a certain point, but not in its entirety).

Therefore, it is mandatory to understand the other person's mindset before communicating with them, because you could end up speaking to someone who doesn't understand your particular line of thought.

I hereby recommend that everyone takes the time to learn about psychology (There are many great books on the subject that are being sold at bookstores and information on psychology can also be found on the internet).

I also believe that a proper understanding of people's psychological mindsets will be an asset where human relations are concerned. We can avoid arguments and wars by understanding each other, because miscommunication can lead to trouble.

I LOVE Miley Cyrus's " Adore You"

Miley Cyrus is an amazingly talented musical artiste. The 21-year-old singer from Nashville Tennessee had me hypnotized by her single, "Adore You"; which is track number one on her album, "Bangerz".

"Adore You" is a nice track where Miley sings a  sexy ballad over slow-tempoed hip hop percussions that is topped off with piano and orchestra music; a wonderful blend.

I am predicting that "Adore You" is going to do well on the Billboard Music Charts.

Nicely done, Miley!

Thank God For Twitter

In August of this year, I had my personal Facebook account phished; as a result, it was temporarily suspended by Facebook.

Luckily, I have a Twitter account; I can still use it to share ideas and distribute the links for my both blogs.

Now, for the record, there are some people who want nothing to do with Twitter (They are free to want or not to want to have dealings with any type of social media).

Anyway, I have never had any problems with Twitter; the response is in real time and the system is mostly up and running.

Twitter grew on me; I like it a lot; it is simple to use.

Twitter is a wonderful social media and I wouldn't be surprised if more people preferred it over Facebook.

I remembered that a few days ago, I had some problems typing on the touchscreen keyboard of my Android smartphone.

Today, the process of typing on my Android smartphone is much easier; it was a combination of determination and practice (I wasn't going to allow that modern-day technology to defeat me).

Someone was kind enough to recommend an app that was designed to make the typing process easier for me; however, when I was about to download it, I got a message stating that the third party app could pose as a violation to my privacy, because it recorded every keystroke; it had the potential to record passwords being typed and I wasn't too pleased with that idea.

So, I practiced a few minutes a day hoping to master it (And, I have to admit that I have seen some improvement).

To be honest, typing on the touchscreen keyboard of an Android smartphone can be quite the test piece; but, it is one that a person is capable of mastering.

Blogging On Christmas Day

Christmas in the post-War United States
Christmas in the post-War United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
For some people, blogging on Christmas Day, is not on their agenda; but I made it mines.

Now, if I blog daily, what would make blogging on Christmas Day any different?

I am of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with blogging on this festive holiday. Once you have made the time for your family, friends and all that is important, it shouldn't be any sort of problem.

Today, I made it my priority to pay Bushra's blog a visit; her blog, Confessions Of A StilettOmaniac, is exactly one-year-old today (I am happy for her, because there are a lot of blogs that have not made it that far).

I have noticed that although a lot of people are blogging on Christmas Day, the blogosphere is not as busy; I would say that the traffic on the internet is somewhat moderate.

The irony is: I can't remember blogging for the Christmas the year before (Although, there is a ninety nine percent chance that I did).

Well, it is nice to know that people do blog on Christmas Day and if they didn't, I would have been the figurative square peg in the round hole.

Recycled Gifts

Pile of gorgeous gifts
Pile of gorgeous gifts (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
There are those people who like to recycle gifts; they received a gift that they didn't like and decided to pass it on to someone else.

I received my fair share of recycled gifts; a person gave me a neatly wrapped box that contained a bottle of cologne (I knew it was a recycled gift, because someone had given that to them earlier in the year and unfortunately, they are allergic to various fragrances; which ruled out the fact that they were unable to wear that particular cologne).

And, in my childhood, a cousin of mine gave me their markers as a gift (I had recognized them as the same makers that I used when I was at their house).

Anyway, recylcling gifts seem to be a regular practice among many people (For the record, I am not one of those people).

There was an instance where a person received a sweater as a gift from someone and they gave the unused sweater as a gift to the same person who sent them the gift the following year (Hmmm. Absolute mayhem).

If you are one of those people who recycle gifts, please do so with caution and if you are one of those people who don't recycle gifts, all is well with you!

A Simple Solution

An Acer laptop computer.
An Acer laptop computer. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Yesterday, my laptop was playing everything else except CDs; I thought that it was a codec issue.

I made a few phone calls to get some advice on how to rectify the situation.

I also watched a small number of YouTube videos that pertained to what I was experiencing with my laptop.

I immediately went into brainstorming mode; I was determined to fix the problem.

As I went through the settings; I discovered that everything looked the way it should; yet the problem was still there.

To be on the safe side, I downloaded a codec package; one that catered for a plethora of media; however, that didn't work.

I took a temporary break from that mind boggling situation and returned to blogging.

Moments after, I typed in a query into the search engine; which was: "My laptop stopped playing CDs but it still plays DVDs. Why has that happened?"

The search engine located a forum where people discussed the same thing that I was going through at the time.

There were all sorts of recommendations; things like upgrading the firmware and digging through the Control Panel.

One person in particular said to clean the lens; I did that and my problem was solved; dust was the culprit.

I thought about everything that I went through to get the problem fixed and all I had to do was, clean the lens; so simple; yet at the time I was experiencing the problem, it was far from my mind.

For some unknown reason, my laptop stopped playing CDs; it only plays DVDs in the E drive; I hope to sort out that soon.

I also have the option of calling my tech-savvy friends to help me solve this problem.

Currently, I am a little displeased that it stopped playing CDs entirely.

If you have any solutions, I would LOVE to hear them.

I Will Settle For Tea For This Christmas

Tea Time

The majority of the people in Trinidad and Tobago consume a rather high percentage of alcohol during the Christmas Season; that by the way, is a very old tradition.

I was never keen about the idea of drinking alcohol. Besides, livers do not grow on trees; the consumption of alcohol can be harsh on one's liver.

Since my favourite beverage is tea, I wouldn't mind requesting some if someone asked me what I would like to drink (I have a feeling that I would be given an odd stare and they would want to know if I was feeling alright).

The Mosquitoes And I

Those of us who live in the Caribbean will tell you that mosquitoes are around right through the year.

One of the most interesting experiences was when they took turns in bumping into the laptop monitor; the room was lit by the brightness of the monitor and winged insects are attracted to the light.

In a way, I was pleased that they found the light to be of interest (For once in my life, I wasn't the center of their attention).

Maybe, I should keep some sort of bright light close by as a diversion; I wouldn't want those mosquitoes to acquire a liking for my blood.

Also, I find it highly annoying whenever they buzz by my ear.

Although I am not fond of mosquitoes, I believe that it is possible to coexist with those blood-sucking insects.

Where Did The Year Go?

december

A while back, we were in the beginning of December and now, the month of December is almost over. Who would have believed that the year 2013 would have been moving the same speed as a fighter jet?

Some of us have even finalized our New Year's resolutions (Well, it is a little too early for me to do so and I also do not want to make promises to myself that I would not keep).

2013 was definitely a great year for blogging and for indepth spiritual exploration; it was also the year for changes.

In the meantime, I will personally see to it that I enjoy the final days of December.

So far, the year 2013, has been nice to me; it is one of those years that I would surely miss when it is finally over.

A Polite Protest

English: A plastic bottle with trigger sprayer...

Today, I didn't do any of the cleaning and painting; it was getting to me. I quietly said to myself, "We all need a day off from chores."

I will admit that the rest felt good (I should try it more often).

I could imagine how the maids and the butlers who are hired by the affluent people of society feel. I am guessing that they can't wait for the end of their shift to arrive.

Most people usually invite guests over to their homes for the Christmas Season; which is why, they want their homes looking spic and span.

Those who keep their homes fairly clean, know that dust will always find a way into their homes whether or not, the doors and the windows are kept closed. So, they know that everything will need cleaning eventually.

It makes no sense tiring ourselves out and when Christmas Day arrives, we are not awake to fully enjoy it, because we are recuperating in bed from all of that hard work; which is why I recommend that we clean and paint in moderation; overdoing it, puts us at a disadvantage.

I also believe that there is more to Christmas than making sure the house is in order; it is about spreading LOVE, peace and harmony to our fellowmen and the celebration of the birth and saviour, Jesus Christ.

Christmas Is Only Five Days Away

christmas tree

I can barely believe how rapidly time has flown.

In spite of starting the cleaning and the painting somewhat early, I realized that there is a whole lot of work that still needs to be done.

Around Christmastime we are forced into becoming workaholics and I am growing tired of that (Maybe, next year, I will ignore Santa and everything else that relates to Christmas).

Anyway, Christmas would be over sooner than we could ever bat our eyelids.

Well, there are many people around the world who do not celebrate Christmas and there are many people around the world who do.

To those of you who celebrate Christmas, I wish you all the best and for those people who don't celebrate Christmas, exercise some patience; the Christmas Season will be fleeting.

Posting On An Android Smartphone Can Be Rather Challenging

If I had a choice of facing a hungry lion or posting on an Android smartphone, I would rather face the hungry lion (Yes, it was that trying for me).

Although those modern Android smartphones come with a built-in QWERTY keyboard; they are touchscreen in nature; they are not the familiar tactile keys like the old-fashioned BlackBerry keypad and the spacing of the virtual keyboard on the Android smartphones are so close that it is easy for one to press the wrong key.

Hopefully, with constant practice,  I would eventually be able to touch the right keys on the virtual keyboard on my Android smartphone.

Posting via an Android smartphone was indeed a challenge and in future, I would use it as my last resort for posting.

I Am At Ease With Writing

Lenovo IdeaTab S2
Lenovo IdeaTab S2 (Photo credit: Wired Photostream)
Some of you are probably aware that writing comes easily for me; it's as though I was born to do that; this is a lovely asset for a blogger such as myself.

The irony is: when I first started blogging many years ago, writing was somewhat of a task; it didn't flow naturally even though I was a talented writer.

As years passed, I grew more comfortable with blogging and I wasn't self-conscious; wondering if people would like my written material or not.

Now, I merely sit back and allow it to flow naturally.

There are times when I started writing and the article shaped up in a magical manner; I didn't plan any topic or anything special and it worked out in the end.

I guess that anyone can be at ease with their writing once they start believing in their ability to write effortless articles like I do; I have faith in you and I know that you can do it if you gave it a sincere try!

The Effects Of A Positive Mind

Lotus
Lotus (Photo credit: kewing)
There are solutions for every so-called problem on the planet; it is just that when people remain in a negative state of mind, they are most likely unable to solve the problem until their mindset changes to a positive one.

When our minds are positive, it is as though we become aligned with our inner power.

Now, just think about it. When you are in a bad mood, things don't go so well and when you are in a good mood, things work out in your favour.

There are a lot of Divine workings of the mind and Spirit that the layman doesn't understand.

We are all familiar with the saying, "Mind over matter." As strange as this may sound to some, our thoughts can manipulate matter; it can change the outcome of our lives for the better, or for the worse.

So, wouldn't we be better off by being aligned with our higher energies? The answer is a simple one; it is, "Yes!"

Missing Bloggers

Laptop HP

I have noticed that there are a lot of bloggers who have been missing in action for the past week; I hope that they didn't abandon their blogs and that they are merely busy or too tired to go on the internet.

Now, I don't expect every blogger to be like me; highly devoted to blogging on a daily basis.

Once I have grown accustomed to reading posts from my fellow bloggers, I become concerned whenever I discover them missing in action.

I know that there is a logical explanation for their hiatus (I will go with a hectic workload that resulted in them going in bed after a hard day's (or night's) work instead of them heading straight for the computer).

I am keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that everything is alright with them.

Why Should We Fit In When We Could Stand Out?

The Brainwashed logo.
The Brainwashed logo. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
As many have said, "God/Goddess has made you special."

Unfortunately, many people are brainwashed into being proverbial carbon copies of other people.

I remembered when I was once a teenager, it was considered cool to talk a certain way and if you didn't dress in a certain manner, you were considered an outcast and treated as such.

As many of us grew older, we discarded those false ideologies and created our own sense of being by dressing the way we felt without thinking about other people's opinion about our sense of fashion and by adopting our own view of the world and the people in it.

I understood that at a young age, children and teenagers tried their very best to fit in with their peers.

Have you ever considered what the world would be like if children and teenagers didn't care about fitting in, but standing out?

For starters, there would be more revolutionary thinkers and leaders in the world.

It is as though the society has programmed us to be docile like sheep and the figurative Shepards are those in power; such as the church ministers, government officials and those who are in charge of our modern-day media.

Many of us like to push ourselves to the limit; while this is good to a point, it can be disastrous if we overexert ourselves.

We have seen those who haven't exercised in a while and when they enter the gym, they want to workout in the same manner as when they were physically active (Bad move. The best thing to do is to take it slowly until they regain their previous fitness level).

There are some exercises that I did in my early twenties that I am unable to do now and those that I can do, could only be done in a lesser quantity; if I did the same quantity of exercise, I would be extremely sore.

Be smart. Workout responsibly and one day, you will regain your fitness level.

Mind Games

Ikea paint brush

I mentioned to everyone in a past post that I was doing some cleaning and painting in my spare time; the purpose of this is to make it easier on myself, so I wouldn't have to rush myself like a busy worker-bee on Christmas.

The truth is: cleaning and painting are relatively simple, but the real task is moving the furniture and the appliances out of the way to paint and clean and to put them back when I am finished with the cleaning and painting.

Today, I envied those who had little furniture and a few appliances because of my situation. I thought to myself, "They don't know how lucky they are."

I also understand fully why people pay to have such services done.

It is all a mind game; one that is strictly for those who have strong minds.

I will persevere, because it is not the first time that I am doing that sort of thing.

To accomplish my task, I I have to psyche myself up and maintain high spirits.

A Great Feeling

Today without a doubt was a fantastic one for me. Now, I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, but my frame of mind was very positive.

And, guess what? I have worked out the annoying computer issue; the one where browsers were crashing on me. All I had to do was increase my virtual memory (I know that it sounds complicated, but it is actually an easy process).

So, solutions do present themselves once we remain positive.

Would this great feeling last for the rest of the week? Well, I hope it does. Also, could this be the positive effects of the full moon that I am experiencing? (Okay, I think that I would leave that one buried in mystery).

I hereby wish my fellow bloggers a wonderful week (And, I hope that you experience your own euphoric feelings of bliss).

These days, it is almost impossible to go through your day without hearing some type of conspiracy theory.

People have written about them, made movies about them; conspiracy theories seem to do well on the market.

Now, being vegan, I could write a book about the meat eating conspiracy (And, I am sure that it would sell millions of copies).

What is it about conspiracies that grabs our interest? I would say that the possibility of the conspiracy being truthful in nature.

Believe it or not, people have been debating things like the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the Roswell UFO incident for years.

One thing I know for sure is that conspiracy theories are never boring and that is why many of them do not grow old; they have a longevity all of their own.

Google Blogger Seems To Be Growing On Me

To be honest with you, I never thought that re-joining Google Blogger would have led to this much fun (Now, let me make one thing clear, even though I am slowly learning to like Google Blogger, it is not going to sway my interest away from WordPress).

The vegan blogs on Google Blogger are absolutely amazing.

Also, there are no spam messages to worry about on this blog site (I am not insinuating that it doesn't exist, it is just rare like a geoengineered pig with wings).

Apparently, the community on Google Blogger is not as opened and friendly as the WordPress community (No offense to you folks on Google Blogger. The WordPress community goes out of their way to make their fellow bloggers feel at home and if you don't believe me, you can go ahead and open an account there and find out for yourself).

At Google Blogger's current state of technological advancement, it is somewhat difficult to find blogs that I am interested in (It takes too long to locate blogs that deal with specific genres. Whereas, WordPress has made it easy for their bloggers to locate blogs of their interest via the Reader feature); other than that, Google Blogger is rather cool; it runs smoothly and so far, I haven't experienced any of the technical issues that I occasionally receive with WordPress.

My favourite  thing about Google Blogger is: the absolute freedom to customize the templates (on WordPress it is referred to as, themes) and I don't have to spend extra for fancy fonts.

My friend, Alex is going to be surprised that I actually went ahead a created a blog on Google Blogger (He hates everything Google with a passion).

It wasn't fun for me the first time that I joined Google Blogger, but the second time around has proven itself to be a positive experience.

Microsoft Or Apple?

Most of my friends like Windows because there are a lot of free compatible software that they can use with it.

With Apple, nothing is free (which is what I was told) and that if one needs additional compatible software, they would have to purchase it.

Also, Microsoft sells their computers and software at a reasonable price.

Apple on the other hand, is for those who are willing to pay extra.

My DJ friends seem to LOVE Apple for doing musical production and also for playing out at live musical events.

I wouldn't mind using Apple and Microsoft at intervals for my blogging projects.

An Earlier Nap Would Be Nice

I have noticed that I have been going to bed at night at late hours since I entered the month of December.

There is so much to be done and so little time to do it.

Also, it is a little harder for me to unwind knowing that Christmas is around the proverbial corner; it is a case of mind over matter and the urgent wanting to complete the painting (and everything else) on schedule (As I have mentioned in an earlier post, this is what many of us in Trinidad and Tobago do before or after work; especially when it is coming closer to Christmas).

Maybe, I need to get Christmas off of my mind and go to bed earlier; the additional night's rest will no doubt be very beneficial to me.

Two of my aunts said to me that they are not going to bother themselves with any chores; they are not rushing to get the house cleaned or painted for Christmas. And, guess what? They have been going to bed early at night (Smart women; they know that rest is imperative).

Hopefully, I could come to a compromise by not overworking myself around the clock and by actually making the time to go to bed earlier at night; which is the smart thing to do!

I really don't know what is really going on today. The internet signal vanishes at intervals and two of my browsers are only crashing (Thank God that I have three browsers currently installed; in the past, I had more, but now, I have settled for only three).

I also made sure that I ran my anti-virus and it said that my computer was clean; I wasn't taking any chances.

From my personal experience, the Windows OS tends to be problematic at times (Luckily, it doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it is a figurative pain in the neck). Besides, I know for a fact that Windows is not responsible for the disruption of my internet service.

Like any other blogger, I dislike it whenever issues prevent me from posting. Logic jumps in and says nonchalantly, "Renard, you cannot do any posting until the internet signal has returned."

Some much for the game of patience.

Scientists Wants Us To Be Prepared For Alien Contact

Numerous people on the planet believe that there are other lifeforms in other galaxies and that it is just a matter of time before they announce their presence to us.

Also, you have those who believe that they were always here and that they were coming and going as they please.

Scientists have been urging us to put some sort of contingency plan in place for when beings from another planet decide to let our entire planet know that they are here.

It may sound a bit ridiculous to some, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

It Actually Snowed In The Egyptian Capital

Camel in snow (Photo credit: Twitter).
Yesterday, I was amazed by what I discovered via social media. Some Egyptians who saw snow for the first time in their lives posted pictures of it on Twitter.

The weather experts and historians even mentioned that it hadn't snowed in Cairo, Egypt for 112 years.

Could this be a sign that weather patterns are changing around the world?

What are your views on this?

Balancing Reading And Writing

Photo credit: ©athrine via photopin cc
All good bloggers usually spend a great bit of their time reading; this is one of their ways of finding their next topic to write about.

Also, one cannot getaway from reading. Why? I will tell you using a simple example; let us say that you have intentions of writing an article about the late Nelson Mandela, you would read his biography and you would peruse past and present news-clips of that iconic figure.

Reading without a doubt, is also an important aspect of blogging, because once we have completed our quota of reading, it is time for us to write what we have learned (Or, even share our perspective as to why those authors were wrong).

I also read lots of articles from my fellow bloggers; there are a large number of them in the blogosophere and I knew if I were to read them all, I would have no time for writing. The trick in it is: to devote a certain amount of time to reading and a certain amount of time to writing.

I truly hope that you found this information helpful and as you have read, it is possible to balance your reading and writing.

Blogs Are Capable Of Moving People

Crowds

I have always believed, that there are a lot of people who take the power of blogging for granted; they do not understand the power that bloggers are truly capable of. Just in case you didn't know, bloggers are capable of moving their readers emotionally; they can influence them to do bad, or to do good.

I am one of the many people who have chosen to utilize the medium of blogging for good; I like using it to entertain, to educate and to motivate people.

There are many bloggers out there who post highly motivational material on the web and when people come across them, their lives are changed for the better; so I know for a fact that I am not the only one who does that sort of thing.

Bloggers are influential and they are capable of moving people.

I need you to digest this message and hopefully, you would never see blogging in the same light again. The world started changing the very day that weblogs were conceptualized.

Never Neglect Your Readers

I might be busy at work and caught up with various other chores. However, I am never too busy for you.

Any blogger who is too busy for their readers is asking for trouble. His or her readers may end up losing interest in their blog.

For the record, our regular readers have grown accustomed to our blogging pattern. If we are in the habit of blogging daily, our readers are expecting to see an article from us on a daily basis; the same goes for those who post weekly, fortnightly, monthly, etcetera.

I genuinely believe that if you can't be physically in front of a computer to press the Publish button on a specific day, you can schedule your posts; that way, it would be posted on the date and the time that you programmed it for.

Even though you are running a personal blog, your readers expect you to be professional.

If scheduling blogs is not your type of thing, you can tell them that you would be taking some time off from your blog on a specific day or days; your readers would understand and they would respect you for giving them the head's up.

Remember, the blogosphere is a busy place and there are countless bloggers out there who are competing for the attention of readers.

If you neglect your readers, they would eventually go elsewhere.

The Chronicles Of Renard Sees Its First Month

The Chronicles Of Renard is actually one month old today; it was created on November 13th, 2013.

It all started out of curiosity; I wanted to know if Google Blogger had made any advancements and to see if it was worth blogging on this blog site again.

As I have mentioned to some of you, my first blog was on Google Blogger; many years ago, my first blog, Renard Moreau Presents started here.

As some years passed, I made the decision to migrate it to WordPress and it took off like wildfire (Apparently, the rightful place for Renard Moreau Presents is WordPress).

Amazingly, my second blog, The Chronicles Of Renard, did far better than my first blog, Renard Moreau Presents when it was within the same one month time-period on Google Blogger (Strange, but true). So, this is evidence that Google Blogger is worth blogging on.

I also LOVE my second blog, The Chronicles Of Renard.

If I have made progress with it in a one month time-frame, I could only imagine what this blog would be like within a years' time.

One month is just the tip of the iceberg ; hopefully, The Chronicles Of Renard would blossom into something spectacular as time goes along.

Also, a special thanks to all of my loyal readers and followers for their unwavering support for this past month.
