Chinese Woman Arrested In Tanzania For Smuggling Ivory

Yes, it is true; a Chinese woman was arrested and charged for smuggling an average of 706 elephant husks; which is valued at $2.5 million dollars.

The guilty person is a 66-year-old woman; whose name is Yang Feng Glan; she also goes by the nickname, "The Queen of Ivory."

This elderly Chinese woman is no newcomer to the illegal business of supplying customers with ivory; she has been doing that sort of thing for ten years.

Yang Feng Glan owned many businesses; including a large restaurant in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania's largest city) and she was also serving as the secretary general of the Tanzania-China Africa Business Council.

Reliable sources have stated that the 66-year-old Chinese woman was under surveillance by an elite police task force back in September 28th, 2015.

It was also said that when Yang Feng Glan found out that the police were on to her, she escaped briefly by car and was apprehended.

On Thursday, she made an appearance before the Tanzanian High Court and was denied bail.

Andrea Costa, a spokesman for the Elephant Action League (a nonprofit group that battles the crime against wildlife) had this to say:

"The elephant species is in the hands of the Chinese President. Once the President decides to close down the legal market of ivory and elephant in China, the poaching of the elephants will end."

Back in September of this year, U.S President Barack Obama and the Chinese President Xi Jinping made history by announcing to the world, that China and the United States would protect elephants from the poaching crisis with nearly complete bans on the imports and the exports of ivory.

Let us all hope that elephant poaching becomes a thing of the past.

Also, may all illegal ivory smugglers know that once they are caught in the act, they would be dealt with severely by the law.

American Woman Arrested For Sitting On Sea Turtle

When I thought that I have heard the weirdest things that ever took place on the planet, the electronic media decided to highlight an interesting piece of news — news about a woman who was arrested for riding a sea turtle.

Stephanie Marie Moore, a 20-year-old woman from Melbourne, Florida, U.S.A., was arrested early Saturday morning by the Melbourne Police Department; her crime: riding the back of a sea turtle.

Apparently, Stephanie Marie Moore was one of two females that were photographed back in July riding a sea turtle; that picture made its way on social media; which prompted numerous complaints to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which conducted the criminal investigation.

Guess what?

Police arrested her when they responded to a disturbance call at approximately 5:00 AM in the 600 Block of Espanola Way.

During the investigation, the police found out about Moore's active warrant; the one that was in reference to her failing to comply with a FWC rule.

She was arrested and sent to the Brevard County Jail; her bond was set at $2,000.

Let this be a lesson to all those people who may choose to fathom something stupid, like sitting on the back of a pregnant sea turtle and uploading the proof (an incriminating picture of themselves in the act) on their social media account.

Vegans and animal rights activists are probably celebrating and thinking to themselves: "There is really justice in this world!"

Apple iOS 9 Has Everyone Talking

If you are a hardcore Apple fan, you probably heard some amazing things about iOS 9 (And, I would not be surprised if you have been boasting about it to all of your friends, family members and co-workers).

iOS 9 Promises Better Battery Life

All smartphone users would appreciate having more battery life, since they are always multitasking on their mobile devices.

The great news is that iPhone users who have iOS 9 installed on their mobile devices, will be in a better position to manage the battery life.

Reliable sources have stated that iOS 9 switches off a small number of processes; which helps in the area of adding an additional hour of life.

Sounds promising, right?

Well, I think so too; but I am a bit sceptical; I would have to experience it first hand in order to believe it.

It Is Superb For Taking Notes

Many of us are into the habit of taking notes on our smartphones.

The Notes app on the iPhone would enable us to synchronize our notes with all of our Apple devices via the iCloud.

Hey, we can also add a photo, a map, or a web link to our note if we wanted to.

One of the coolest features of the Notes app is, that we can use the tip of our finger to draw right into the note itself.

You Get The Option To Hide Your Photos

You no longer have to download an app for the purpose of hiding the photographs on your smartphone.

A lot of us have had the experience of someone close to us, who went through the gallery of our smartphone and saw a few embarrassing photos of us.

Now, iOS 9, has given us the power to hide the photos on our iPhone.

Your embarrassing selfies will remain your biggest secret.

In Closing

Now, although iOS 9 is magnificent, there were those who experienced Hell with it; some people complained that it crashed their iPhones (And, I am hoping that you are not one of those people; because you would not want to read a word about what anyone wrote about iOS 9).

Also, there are a lot of interesting things about iOS 9 that I have not covered (Believe it or not, the information is enough to fill the pages of an eBook).

Maybe, iOS 9 is a bit overrated at the moment; since it is being highlighted by most of the tech-savvy people on the world wide web.

Currently, there are those who love the new iOS 9 and of course, there are those who hate it with a heated passion.

What do I think about this?

Well, I believe that most new operating systems will have a few bugs in them (Which would be sorted out eventually as time goes along by the manufacturer).

Instead of rushing to install iOS 9, you can wait a week (or two); hopefully by then, Apple would have made amends to the update.

I do not think that it was Apple's vision to stress out their customers; but to provide them with a user experience of a lifetime.

Also, here is a video that explains what we can all expect from using iOS 9.
