The Modern Age Of The Internet

The Internet is a part of most people's lives; they either have it at home, at work or on the go with them via mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Almost Everyone Is Online

The truth is: at some point in the day (or the night), people are browsing the internet.
The younger ones are attracted to the popular social media and the older ones are catching up on current events via the mainstream media or alternative news sites.

There Are Internet Hotspots In The Cities And The Rural Areas

Some restaurants and caf├ęs provide a free Wi-Fi service for their customers and some service providers give their service away for free; an example of this is: people using bzone in the major cities in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Issue Of Affordable Internet

Many people I have spoken to believe that they are paying way too much for the internet and think that their internet service providers should lower their prices.
Then there are those who would prefer to spend their money on the necessities; the essential items like food and clothing; they will not even think twice about investing in an internet package; whether it be postpaid or prepaid.

We Need More Service Providers

Hopefully, by having more service providers around, people might be in a better position to acquire an affordable internet service.

From experience, people have learned that when there are only a few service providers, the business is not as competitive as when there are a lot of them around (And, with many internet service providers around, there is a chance of people getting a better service and more gigabytes for less money).

Businesses Are Online

In the 21st century, people can pay their bills online.
They can even shop online; there is no need for them to go directly to the store if they don't want to; people in the United States of America and Japan are used to this kind of shopping.

Universities Are Online

A person can study at an accredited university via the internet and get their degree; they don't need to be on campus.

The Conclusion

In reality, there are a lot of online services (which are too numerous to mention); however, if the internet is not available to everyone, they cannot enjoy its benefits.

Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people who do not use the internet, because it is either unavailable in their area or it is too costly for them to maintain.

Hopefully, in the near future, there will be affordable internet for all and the only way that you would be without the internet is if you really don't want it.

Do We Really Need All Of Those Plastic Bags?

Oxfam cotton bag design concepts

The truth is: we do not need an enormous amount of plastic bags. And, seeing the way that some people operate, plastic bags end up polluting our environment; they end up in landfills and in our seas and rivers.

Countries such as Rwanda, Germany, Sweden, Belgium and Japan (to name a few) have all done their part to eliminate the plastic bag nuisance; just recently, I heard that Hawaii is following in their footsteps towards a greener lifestyle.

An alternative to plastic bags would be to use those bags that are made of cotton, nylon and canvas.

It is upon us all to make Planet Earth an ideal place to live and we cannot do that with the irresponsible usage of plastic bags.
