The Photogenic Hibiscus Flower

A Hibiscus Flower Photographed By Renard Moreau
The sight of this beautiful hibiscus flower was too good to ignore.
Recently, I took a photograph of a beautiful hibiscus flower; it was taken in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

A Hot EDM Mix Session From Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale

DJ Set

There are those people in our local electronic dance music community who are quite familiar of what DJ Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale is capable of (And, the funny thing is: there are those who are seeing him every single day and do not know that he is a highly skilled DJ).

My good friend, Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale moves so cool with everyone (He does not suffer from The Celebrity Complex; in other words: he does not have his head stuck all the way up his ass; he is what most people can refer to as, "A people person," and thank God he is a very humble fellow).

DJ Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale, is from Bon Air Gardens, Arouca; which is one of those lovely places in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Being his manager, I prompted him to share his talent online (I want the entire planet to know what this guy is truly capable of).

Today, he has chosen to share one of his mix sessions with us; one that is entitled: DJ Sicky's Electrik Avenue (Mix Session #2).

I guarantee, that those who are into electronic dance music are going to enjoy themselves when they listen to what he has put together. Enjoy!

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca: Paradise In East Trinidad

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca
Bon Air Gardens, Arouca (Photo credit: MapQuest)
Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is a lovely place; it is one of those places that I visit regularly; since I live a stone's throw away from its border.

Although, it has changed a lot structurally (like many other places throughout The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago) it is still a very warm and welcoming place.

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is considered by me to be one of the best housing communities in the eastern part of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Bon Air Gardens' Exercise Facility Is Close By

Since I live extremely close to Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, I have made it a habit of mines to jog on the grounds of the Bon Air Gardens exercise facility; it is brightly-lit all around by those tall lights that are found at stadiums (Which is perfect to see where I am placing my footing at approximately four o'clock in the morning).

I am not the only one who likes to use the Bon Air Gardens exercise facility; the elderly (and, the not so elderly) are out on the exercise equipment, doing some brisk walking and some jogging on the exercise grounds and ninety nine percent of them live right in the heart of Bon Air Gardens, Arouca (If there is an exercise facility right in one's area, it would be a very wise decision to utilize it with the intentions of keeping fit and remaining healthy).

I Have Friends Who Live In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

I always have an excuse to visit Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, because I have friends of mine who live there (And, since Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is so close to home, I cannot make foolish excuses at to why I am unable to pay them a visit).

My good friend and DJ, Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale lives in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca and I enjoy paying him regular visits; because he has a humongous music collection and our tastes in music are very similar to each other's.

The People In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, Are Friendly

Now, I probably bring out the best in people; but every time that I approach them or socialize with them, they exude friendliness.

Anyone seeing them for the first time in their life would gather the impression, that the people in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, are basically, happy people.

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, Needs A Bigger Community Centre

Someone once mentioned to me that the tiny building on the grounds of the exercise facility in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is actually the community centre; I looked at the person in disbelief, because I knew the community of Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is a fairly large one.

It is alleged that those in political power were going to build a larger community centre on the unoccupied piece of land that is next to the Bon Air Gardens exercise facility and a small group of people in the area protested against it, because they thought that the community centre would have been too close to the housing community; if that is indeed true, that reason is a ridiculous one, because a community centre is supposed to be within a community; hence the term, "Community centre."

Hopefully, one day, the government would fund the building of a much larger community centre in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca (The community has expanded, therefore, the community centre needs to expand too).

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, Needs Its Own Health Centre

The old health centre in Arouca is always filled with people who are in need of basic healthcare and a person can actually spend over an hour there before their number is called (Yes, people are required to take a number as soon as they enter that building).

A health centre in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, will not only be good for its community; it would also lessen the large numbers of people that the doctors and the nurses face at the current health centre in Arouca.

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is a fairly large place and a health centre would definitely be an asset to its community.

There Are A Lot Of PNM Supporters Living In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

In The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, a lot of people are heavily involved in politics (And, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is no different where the love for politics is concerned).

During election-time, a very large number of the residents would proudly place PNM (People's National Movement) banners and posters in front of their houses.

Even though I do not deal in politics, I sincerely believe that people are free to support any political party that they desire.

However, there are some people in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, who support other political parties and in spite of their political differences, they tend to get along well with each other.

A Large Number Of The People In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, Are Religious

I have discovered that there are a large percentage of people who are members of the Spiritual Baptist faith, Jehovah's Witnesses and Catholics.

There is also a reasonable amount of people in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, who are members of the Muslim faith and there are Hindus that also live in the same area.

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is filled with religious diversity (Which is one of the reasons why, it is such a wonderful community).

There Are Lots Of Trees And Plants In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

Although the landscape of Bon Air Gardens has changed a lot, it is still possible to come by many plants and trees (If you go through my blog archive, you will encounter photographs that I took of them).

It may not have as much flora as it did years ago, but there is enough plants and trees around to make one feel a deep sense of serenity.

Hopefully, they are not going to cut down those beautiful trees or remove those exotic plants to expand what many of us have playfully termed, "The concrete jungle."

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, Is Filled With Productive People

Bon Air Gardens Arouca, has residents who are police officers, firemen, school teachers, technicians, barbers, hair dressers, cooks, entrepreneurs, mechanics, deejays, musicians (And, I have only mentioned a small list of occupations; in reality that is just the proverbial icing (or frosting) on the cake, since Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is filled with highly skilled and talented people.

There Are Small Businesses Within Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

If you were to enter Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, you would immediately recognize that it is filled with lots of small shops (The people there are interested in making an honest dollar).

So, most people can buy food and beverages without having the cause to go all the way to the supermarket (For the record, the people in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, do go to the supermarket, because those small shops do not sell everything).

Even I have purchased a few items from some of those small shops in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca (I will personally admit that they do come in very handy).

There Is The Occasional Trouble In Paradise

Although the majority of the people get along well with each other, there are a handful of gangs who would hold grievances towards each other; a person from the Phase one area in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, might be prohibited to walk through (or driving through) the Phase two area in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca and vice versa (Thankfully, the feudalism has died down and there have not been any casualties due to gang warfare in a very long time).

Now, I hope that did not spoil your view of the beautiful place that Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, truly is; since there are gangs within almost all of the communities throughout The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and it is not a problem that is exclusive to Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

Some Wishful Thinking About Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

If Bon Air Gardens, Arouca was  larger, the developers could have built its own shopping mall; that would have created more jobs for those people living in the community of Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

Also, it would have been the ideal place for the people in the area of Arouca to shop and pay their bills.

Currently, people who live in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, go outside of Arouca to shop and to pay their bills; this is done mostly in the areas of Trincity and Arima.

If Bon Air Gardens, Arouca had a large shopping mall of their own, their community would have been a self-sustaining one; since many local and foreign companies would have been conducting their business in that area.

There Are Regular Police Patrols In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

The police are known to patrol Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, around the clock (It is done as a routine and not because of the area being a hot crime spot; which by the way, it is not; but I have to admit that their regular presence in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is enough to deter crime; since it would cause any evildoer to think twice about committing an illegal act).

The Conclusion

Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, is a beautiful place (I know that for a fact, because I have traversed that area regularly).

Like any other community throughout The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, would have its occasional squabbles.

Despite the fact that the landscape of Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, has changed a lot, it is still a beautiful place to walk through (or to drive through); which would enable anyone to soak up the beauty of its surroundings (And, I would even go a step further by insinuating that it is a great place to live).

The Younger Folks Exercise At A Later Hour

Children Exercising
I have been getting up three o'clock in the morning for some years now; it gives me enough time to brush my teeth, have breakfast, bathe and to put on my exercise gear; so I could go jogging or have myself a brisk walk at approximately 4 o'clock in the morning (And, I am fine with that routine).

At the exercise grounds in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca. I have noticed that it is mainly the older folks that get up very early in the morning and exercise.

The younger folks would come out at evening-time to play a game of football, engage themselves in a game of basketball, use the exercise equipment, do some stretches and a bit of running and jogging.

Now, I am very happy to know that many of the youths are getting themselves some outdoor exercise; because these days, there are young people who are only interested in playing games on their computer; therefore, I cannot be displeased by the fact that the younger folks have chosen a later hour to exercise; because they are engaging themselves in physical activities (When I was a teenager, I used to exercise on evenings too and there was no way that I would have entertained the thought of getting up very early in the morning to exercise).

As we grow older, some of us would no doubt, develop the habit of getting up early on mornings and instead of doing nothing until it is time to go to work, we go outdoors, exercise, return to our homes, bathe and prepare ourselves for work.

However, I have noticed that it is the habit of many youngsters to sleep late during the morning period; which is why they would prefer to exercise on evenings.

This goes to show, that the younger folks would prefer to exercise at a time that is convenient to them (And, that is usually in the evening period).

It Is Time I Started Using My Treadmill Again

Today (Monday, 27th October), I discovered that the exercise grounds in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca was in darkness; the tall lights (the same kind of lights that are used at stadiums) were off; under normal circumstances, those tall, bright lights are usually on from late in the evening and they come off at early sunrise.

I planned on doing some early morning jogging (It is something that I like to do before sunrise); however, I had to scrap that plan of mine; for the sake of safety, I decided to walk briskly; to run in low visibility is to risk tripping over an unseen object (And, I don't think that I would like that at all).

I am also a little annoyed that the facility has been in darkness during the late evening and very early morning periods for approximately three weeks (Apparently, there is some type of electrical issue that requires the skill of a certified electrician).

An elderly gentleman who does his exercises at the facility in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, mentioned to me that he did his workout in the darkness in the past and that it took some months before the lights returned (Now, that is darn insane).

He also mentioned to me, that he doesn't mind exercising in the dark, because he did so in the past; a time when those lights weren't even erected as yet.

I have noticed that a lot of the women stopped coming out on mornings to exercise at the facility (And, I really don't blame them, became they don't feel safe being there that hour in the morning without any lights).

So far, only a small portion of the men are coming out to exercise early in the morning.

When the lights were functional, people would come out to exercise as early as 3:00 AM; but all of that has changed due to the fact that the exercise facility has been under darkness.

I have a treadmill at home; so it is not mandatory that I leave my home very early in the morning with the intentions of jogging.

For the time being, I could boycott the exercise facility in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, until the lights are functional.

I will continue to do my early morning exercise; but instead of doing it at the facility in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, I will do it at the comfort of my home on my treadmill.

White Flowers At Night

White Flowers At Night Photographed By Renard Moreau
Gorgeous-looking white flowers.
Yesterday, I paid my DJ, Nigel "Sicky" Kinsale a visit; we live walking distance from each other and I was also in the mood to discus business.

On my way back home, I photographed these beautiful flowers (And, just in case you are wondering where they were photographed, I would be most happy to tell you; they were photographed at Bon Air Gardens, Arouca).

As I have mentioned in a past post, I like experimenting with photos by taking them in various degrees of light and darkness (And, most of the times, I enjoy the end result).

Lash Plants Before Sunrise

Photo Of Lash Plants Taken By Renard Moreau
Irresistible-looking lash plants.
Recently, I took this photo of these lash plants; they were taken in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca (I was returning home from my usual exercise routine and the Sun wasn't up in the sky as yet; the place was still dark; that is what happens when one exercises very early in the morning).

I couldn't wait for the sunshine (because that would have been a very long wait) and besides, I like photographing plants in various shades of light (and darkness too); which happens to be one of my favourite types of experiments. Enjoy!

Discarded Floor Tiles

An indiscriminate act of littering!
A lot of people in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago have unconventional methods of discarding their garbage; this was actually thrown at one of the side-walks in Phase Two, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca (Apparently, no one was around at the time to enforce the law where littering is concerned).

On a bright note, I remembered a former employer of mine when I saw those floor tiles; he was the kind of person who didn't believe in wasting anything; if he had seen those tiles, he would have carried them home, smashed them into smaller pieces and would have created a unique design and placed them in concrete outside of his house.

As they say, "One man's garbage, is another man's treasure!"

A red flower amongst a green background of plants.
Recently, I took a photo of this beautiful red flower; which happened to be in the area of: Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

As usual, I was minding my own business when I encountered this highly photogenic beauty.

When it comes to photographs, flowers tend to be one of the most ideal things to take a snapshot of (And, a lot of people will no doubt, agree with me on this one). Enjoy!

Beauty Under A Different Shade Of Light

Trees photographed on a cloudy day.
It dawned on my that I didn't do any posts regarding photography for the month of August (So, this is the perfect opportunity for me to get cracking).

Recently, I took this snapshot of these trees in the area of Bon Air Gardens, Arouca; it was slightly overcast at the time and I thought that it would contribute to a rather interesting picture. Enjoy!

Another batch of beautiful flowers.

Caterpillars Reign

Hungry caterpillars looking for a meal.
Earlier today, I caught a view of some caterpillars that were having themselves a field-day; they were crawling around and consuming the leaves of this particular plant.

I had my camera on me; I was eagerly awaiting for the moment to photograph something special (And, that was the special moment).

This beautiful snapshot was taken in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca. Enjoy!

Another Interesting-Looking Plant

A plant worthy of photographing.
Whenever I am walking with a camera on me (which is like 99% of the time), I always keep my eyes out for beauty; so I could photograph it.

Here is another beautiful snapshot that was taken in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca; it is a lovely-looking plant (Unfortunately, I do not know the name of that plant; all I know is, that the plant is beautiful and photogenic).

More Beautiful Flora

Beautiful-looking flora.
Earlier on today, I was in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca; while I was there, this beautiful-looking thing caught my attention; it appeared to be some type of flower.

Now, I don't have to tell you that I photographed it.

I hereby dedicate this image to all of the people who love plants, trees and flowers.

Magnificent-Looking Flora

Captivating flora.
Honestly, there are opportunities that I can't allow to slip through my fingers — opportunities that allow me to photograph interesting things.

The last time I was in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, I made it my priority to photograph this beauty and I am happy that I did so. Enjoy!

Don't Be Afraid To Walk In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

Unfortunately, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca was depicted as a gun-slinging town — one of those towns where you have to look over your shoulder when you enter it, because some bad guy may not like you and he may not think twice of shooting you; I can assure you that this is not the case.

The Negative Elements

Honestly, there are some gangs around; people who have been holding feuds with other members within Bon Air Gardens itself; an example of this is: that gang members in Phase One hate the gang members in Phase Three and vice versa and there is this cat and mouse game that they play with each other; which sometimes, results in both parties dodging bullets, or someone getting killed in the process.

Anyone Is Free To Walk Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

The gang members do not harass visitors; however, they would stare a little longer than average in their direction, wondering who that person might be, or which person in the community that they are going to; other than that, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca is a very nice place.

The Real "Big Guns" In Bon Air Gardens, Arouca

A lot of people from the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force live in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca; this means: that there are regular patrols from those people in that area.

The Conclusion

Once you are not a gang member, you are safe to move around freely in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

Beautiful Palm

A great-looking palm
I seem to have a fascination with palm trees; this one in particular was photographed in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

Do you like palm trees as much as I do?

Palm trees are a favourite of a lot of people in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and they can be found almost anywhere in that country.

A Small Plant In Its Splendour

A decent-looking plant.
Today, right after jogging, I went in search of beautiful things to photograph and I found what I was looking for; it was a nice small plant (And, I don't have to tell you that I took a snapshot of it).

This is another photograph that was taken in the area of Bon Air Gardens, Arouca. Enjoy!
