Most people would say that a key component for any successful relationship is honesty. Yet in reality, while in romantic relationships, we often lie to ourselves, lie to each other and often have a fear of disclosing our true selves.

Authenticity... If someone is being authentic, surely they should be living what they teach and walking the talk? If they don't walk the talk, then surely this invalidates the entire message?

Doing Your Own Thing In The Blogosphere

MacBook Air

As far as I could remember, I was always keen on doing my own thing (Now, that does not mean that I was in the constant habit of butting heads with authority).

As human beings, we have to find our own paths and your path might not be right for me and vice versa.

I even approach blogging with the same attitude.

Blogging Experts Recommended That I Choose A Niche

Well, guess what?

I purposely chose to go in the direction of having no niche, because I hate being bottled up in a niche; I would feel imprisoned by a niche.

Why is that so?

Because, I like to deal with miscellaneous items.

If I am feeling to write an article about potatoes today, you can bet your last hard-earned dollar that, I am going to write about potatoes (I write about whatever that I am in the mood to write about).

If you are a regular visitor to my blog, The Chronicles Of Renard, you would have noticed that it deals with miscellaneous topics.

And, it worked out rather well for me.

Now, no offence intended to those lovely bloggers who decided to abide by a niche (If you are doing a niche-related blog and you are handling it very well, I am happy for you).

However, I have to admit that a niche has its advantages and the main one being: you outrightly know your targeted audience.

Well, if you are doing a business-related-type blog, you do not have much of a choice, but to follow your chosen niche (To not do so would be like setting yourself up for failure).

Thankfully, my blog is a personal one — one that is done merely for the fun of it and I am free to do anything I want with it.

Sometimes, I feel that personal bloggers can getaway with posting anything that comes to their mind (And, in most cases they can).

They can work with a niche, or without one.

Some People Believe That Blogging On Blogger Is Only For Beginners

I would agree that Blogger is perfect for those who are now getting their figurative feet wet in the blogosphere; but let it be known, that Blogger can be used by the very advanced tech-savvy bloggers; they are the ones who are into creating blog templates, changing the way in which their templates look and using various widgets and plugins at their will (A lot of people have the misconception that this can be only done on the self-hosted version of WordPress).

I like the freedom to experiment with my blog's appearance and most importantly, its content (And, Blogger grants me that freedom).

For the record, I have no intentions of  discarding my blog over at WordPress and no one should hate me, because of my desire for wanting to dabble deeply with HTML, CSS and JavaScript codes here on Blogger.

Are you free to do whatever you want want with your blog at the moment?

Luckily, I know that I can!

Let it be known, that Blogger is filled with people who are at various stages of their development (And, believing that it is a blog site for those bloggers who are at a kindergarten level is, highly insulting).

Eat your heart out envious ones, because I have managed to transform my blog on Blogger into something magnificent.

Hey, I felt the need to try something other than WordPress; which by the way is, the planet's number one blog site.

Purposely choosing to blog on a blog site (Blogger) that is not number one, is definitely going against the proverbial grain.

It is your mental and spiritual energy that makes your blog what it is (The credit does not go to some damn blog site on the world wide web).

Is that rebellious enough for you?

No, I am not having a manic episode; I am merely being myself and enjoying my freedom.

Listen To Your Intuition

Unfortunately, not all blogging experts agree with each other, one tells you to do, "This," while the other tells you to do, "That."

The most ridiculous blogging advice I ever received was, "People do not really care about what bloggers think and we should only blog about what people are interested in."

Thank God/Goddess, that I do not own a water-gun, because I would have filled it with my own urine and go hunting for the person who published that idiotic advice and soak them down from their head all the way down to their feet when I find them.

Honestly, people do care about what I think.

How do I know that?

I know that for a fact, because I am in the habit of publishing my thoughts via my blog (And, I can bet that your readers like to read about the things that crossed your mind too).

If my intuition urges me to write about a particular topic, that is what I am going to do (And, who am I to go against the wise aspect of myself? To ignore intuition is, to invite trouble).

Do you ever listen to your intuition whenever you are composing your posts?

Whenever, I obey my intuition, producing articles becomes child's play.

Which do you prefer?

To engage yourself in child's play, or slave like hell with an article that does not want to see the light of day?

I believe that you already know the answer to that question.

Following Trends Can Land You In Trouble

Some blogging experts are forever pointing out that bloggers should choose the popular niches in order to acquire a large readership; it is something that I advise against; unless you are truly passionate about one of those niches that they told you to jump into.

If you make the mistake of choosing popularity over passion, your blog is as good as dead (You would run out of figurative steam and end up abandoning your blog and that could have been avoided if you only followed your passion).

To hell with following trends; you are better off creating your own.

Do you agree?

We Are Forever Creating Magical Moments

When we do our own thing, we inspire those people who resonate with our beliefs to go out and do their own thing too.

You cannot live those magical moments by being a clone of someone else; you can only do that by being yourself and by following the intuitive nudges of your Higher Self/Infinite Spirit/God/Goddess.

Live every moment in authenticity and your life will be a magical one.

And, those who are authentic, post whatever they want, whenever they want.

I Am Addicted To Commenting

Since, I like doing whatever I want, I do not feel ashamed or shy when it comes to commenting on the blogs of strangers.

Many times, I have chosen blogs at random and commented on them all for the sake of wanting to do so.

Okay, maybe I am a little weird.

But, I cannot help myself when it comes to commenting on blogs.

Do you like commenting on blogs?

Hey, I already know for a fact that a large number of bloggers enjoy the activity of commenting on the posts of their fellow bloggers (I know that I do).

Also, commenting on other people's blogs is, a good way of attaining some attention; the curious ones would click on your name and that would redirect them to your blog.

That interesting hobby of  mines always works out in my favour; thank goodness that I enjoy commenting on the blogs of other people (And, I do it, because I genuinely want to and also I enjoy participating fully in the blogosphere).

When it comes to blogging, I am very brave; so commenting was never an issue (And, that is just me doing my own thing; I was never coerced into doing it).

The Conclusion

Never be afraid to do your own thing (And, the same applies to your blog).

Is there something that you always wanted to do with it?

Is there a new category of post that you wanted to try out?

Is there a new theme, or template that you wanted to try out, but never made the time for?

Are you brave enough to figuratively let your hair down where your blog is concerned.

Are you brave enough to show your audience who you really are?

Oh, I have certainly given you a lot to think about (And hopefully, you are in a position to answer, "Yes," to some of those questions, or all of them).

If you are like me, you would rather do your own thing, instead of staying hidden and overwhelmed by someone else's shadow.

Be brave enough to take risks that would make the stomachs of other bloggers gripe with pain.

Do something new on your blog without being bogged down by the thought, "Hmm. I wonder, what would people think of me?"

Apparently, a lot of people on Planet Earth care deeply about what people think about them and not necessarily about what they think about themselves.

It is not wrong to think about yourself and to care for yourself; provided that it does not blossom into a case of full blown vanity.

Have you discovered your true inner power as yet?

Trust me, dear friend, when I say to you, "You are more powerful than you could ever fathom."

Also, there are things that you a quite good at and your life would prosper if you started doing them on a regular basis.

As a matter of fact, we are all good at something and you can become a forerunner at what you are good at.

Would you like that?

Smile, dear friend and remember that there is no one on the planet who is quite like you.

You are unique; therefore you have something special to share with the world (And, you can do that via your blog).
